The process normally takes about 3 hours depending on the condition of the bathtub. If we need to strip the bathtub from a previous refinishing this will add approximately 30-60 minutes to the job. Filling in holes over the size of a quarter will also add extra time to the job.

Aliphatic 2 part polyurethane-topcoats are one of the most important parts of the bathtub refinishing process, providing superior impact resistance, high gloss, chemical & water resistance are all desired in a high performance topcoat. 2 part epoxy primer with silane additive-high quality epoxy primers play a critical role in bathtub refinishing. High performance topcoats, focusing on cosmetic look and durability, sacrifice on adhesion. Our epoxy adhesive primer coatings offer maximum adhesion to a variety of substrates such as porcelain, ceramic, fiberglass or acrylic.

Our coating manufacturer prescribes waiting 4 hours, however, we suggest waiting 12 hours just for good measure.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding the length of time a refinished bathtub will last. The reason for this is simple, bad quality workmanship and material results in diminished longevity. Some companies boast 10-25 year life spans, however this is really disingenuous. The average life span is 7-10 years with proper care.

Please remove all personal effects from the bathroom such as towels, floor mats, toothbrushes etc..

Also if you have a leaky faucet please have this repaired before refinishing takes place. We need water and electricity to perform the work as well.

Yes, there is an odor associated with the process. Our product is low VOC compliant, and we exhaust the bathroom during the process to minimize the smell as much as possible. We can also add a watermelon scent to the coating to mask the smell if you’d like.

Yes! We give a 3 year warranty on all refinished surfaces. Some may have longer warranties, but will they be in business all those many years later? Will they even be around to honor their warranty?
