Grout with mold, mildew and dirt is removed with a power tool in order to speed up the process. There can be a bit of dust associated with this part of the process so we ventilate the area and or put up plastic walls to seal off the bathroom. This part of the process is the most time consuming and labor intensive. Depending on the size of your bathroom it could take anywhere from a few hours to a full day. Once all the grout lines have been removed, new grout is added in the color of your choice. New grout is applied with a float and pushed into the seams in a horizontal pattern. It is important to go over each area thoroughly in order to fill all the gaps. This part of the process can take a few hours to a day depending on the size of your bathroom. Cleaning off the excess grout left behind is done with a sponge and water. Often overlooked, removing the grout properly might be the most important part of the process as it is responsible in large part to the final look of the bathroom. Often, a film is leftover after the grout is cleaned off and is referred to as “grout haze”. There are products on the market to remove the grout haze or we can return for a nominal fee. Unfortunately, it is unavoidable.Time frame is an hour to a couple of hours depending on the size of the bathroom.
